Today, the IRS announced the annual shutdown/cutover schedule for the AIR Production system used to prepare for the Tax Year 2021/Filing Season 2022. This shutdown will affect all transmissions, including corrections and replacements.
Cutover Schedule
The system shutdown for production will begin on December 5 at 5:00 pm EST. The start up date and time has yet to be released. An alert will be posted regarding this on the AIR System Operational Status Page.
During the AIR production cutover, the AIR Assurance Testing System (AATS) environment will remain open, except during the routine maintenance window each week.
If you are planning on submitting filings for TY2020 or prior, then these will need to processed prior to December 5, 2021.
